An important note from our docents
We are proud to interpret the cultural and natural history of Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park. Docents are trained to lead your tour. Our docents all love and respect our park and the school children that come to visit us on their field trips.
Interpretation of natural and cultural heritage must be as old as humans. The shaman, storytellers, and elders of tribal groups carried the oral history of their people forward from generation to generation. Before books and modern methods of recording stories, these oral traditions were key to the survival and evolution of cultures.
We welcome new docents to our program. Train is usually done in February. Please contact us any time and a docent will arrange a meeting at the park.
